About K1VPN

What does a VPN do and why do I need one?

A VPN (Virtual Private Network) encrypts your entire internet connection and hides your real IP address, so your ISP, network operator, or any third party cannot see what you do online. It is ideal for secure browsing on public Wi-Fi, protecting your privacy, and changing your virtual location by connecting to servers in 45+ countries.

What makes K1VPN different, and why should I choose it over other providers?

K1VPN is an independent company - we do not belong to any large corporate group and do not depend on third-party interests. We were founded by professionals with years of experience in network infrastructure and information security, with one goal: a service without compromises. In Greece, we operate fully owned bare-metal hardware - a unique advantage for low latency and maximum speed for Greek users. Our customer support is 100% available in English and Greek, 24/7. We use WireGuard® - the most modern VPN protocol - running on 10Gbps infrastructure, and we apply a strict No-Logs policy by design, not just as a promise on paper.

K1VPN is a new service on the market. Why should I choose you over an established company with years of presence in the industry?

As a commercial product, we are indeed new. Our relationship with networks, infrastructure and security, however, goes back almost 30 years - we were already using our own infrastructure for personal use, and when we saw that others needed something similar, we decided to offer it commercially. This gives us a practical advantage: zero dead weight. Our network was built from scratch with modern protocols like WireGuard®, without the constraints that come with maintaining older infrastructure. We are not asking you to trust us because we are new - we are simply suggesting you try us.

Other providers have more countries and servers - why should I choose K1VPN?

We do not compare quality to quantity. It is practically and financially impossible for any company to maintain genuine, high-performance servers in hundreds of countries simultaneously. Many providers in the market resort to "virtual server locations": through routing techniques (policy-based routing, BGP announcements) or by registering an IP address with a regional internet registry in a different country, a server that is physically located elsewhere can appear as local to a market it does not actually serve directly. At the same time, what gets counted as a separate "server" is often just another virtual instance, through virtualization, running on the same physical hardware - inflating the number on paper without adding any real CPU, RAM, or bandwidth capacity. The result is more concurrent users sharing the same limited resources, directly affecting real-world speed and stability. At K1VPN, we prefer fewer, genuine points of presence with verified infrastructure quality over an impressive but essentially hollow number - not all that glitters is gold.

Is using a VPN legal?

Yes. VPN use is completely legal in Greece and throughout the European Union. VPNs are widely used security tools by businesses, remote workers, students, and privacy-conscious individuals who want to protect their data.

How can I be sure K1VPN actually does what it claims?

We publish a public Transparency Report detailing the legal requests we have received and how we responded to them. Our architecture is designed so that connection data exists only temporarily in RAM and is never written to disk, meaning there is nothing to disclose even in the event of a server seizure. You can also independently verify the service yourself using our free IP Check and DNS Leak Test tools.

How does K1VPN compare to Tor?

Tor routes your traffic through at least three random nodes operated by volunteers around the world, with no guarantee that an unknown person running a node is not keeping logs or monitoring the traffic passing through it. Despite its reputation, it does not offer absolute anonymity: the exit node sees your unencrypted traffic whenever a website does not use HTTPS, and traffic remains vulnerable to correlation attacks from anyone able to observe both the entry and exit points of the network at the same time. Exit node IP addresses are publicly known, so many of them are already blacklisted by online services, while routing through multiple volunteer-run nodes makes it significantly slower - unsuitable for streaming or everyday use. K1VPN, by contrast, routes your traffic through high-performance infrastructure (10Gbps) at strategic locations worldwide, offering speed suitable for everyday use while maintaining a strict No-Logs policy. We do not recommend using Tor and a VPN at the same time unless you fully understand how to configure them: misconfiguration can create leaks that go unnoticed by the average user.

Why should I trust K1VPN?

Trust is built through actions, not promises. We are an independent company with no ties to large corporate groups, a public Transparency Report, and a No-Logs architecture by design on every server we use. Unlike many VPNs that simply promise "we do not keep logs," we explain exactly what we process, what we do not, and how our infrastructure works.

You say K1VPN is a Greek effort, but the company is a US LLC based in the United States. How does that add up, and why should I trust you?

Fair question. K1VPN's "Greek" identity refers to the team, the infrastructure, and the support - not the company's legal seat. The service is built and run by a Greek team of network and security professionals, with fully owned bare-metal hardware in Athens and Thessaloniki, and support in Greek. We will always be transparent and completely honest with you: there are two main reasons the company is registered as K1VPN LLC in Wyoming, USA - the enormous Greek and European bureaucracy and procedures, and the different, more favorable approach to personal data. That does not change how the service works: we do not keep logs by architecture - there is nothing to hand over, even in response to a lawful request.

Plans, Pricing & Payments

What plans do you offer?

We offer three main plans: Monthly (€9.99/mo), Annual (€4.99/mo), and 2-Year (€3.99/mo), along with a free 48-hour trial. There is also an additional 7-day plan for just €2.99, with no auto-renewal, available exclusively from the dashboard of registered users - for example, you can start with the free trial and then choose this plan for a little more trial time at minimal cost. Every plan includes unlimited data, up to 10 simultaneous connections, and access to our full global network.

See plan details →

Can I try K1VPN for free?

Yes, you get 48 hours of full access to the service at no charge. A valid payment card is required solely to prevent abuse - no charge will be made during the trial. One free trial is allowed per user.

Which K1VPN subscription offers the best value for money?

The 2-year plan (€3.99/mo) offers the biggest savings - up to 70% lower than the monthly plan. If you just want an extra trial for occasional use with minimal financial risk, there is also an additional 7-day package with no auto-renewal for just €2.99, available as an add-on from your dashboard.

Why should I pay for a VPN subscription? Aren’t there free alternatives?

When a product is free, you are usually the product. Most free VPN services need to cover their infrastructure costs somehow - by selling your usage data, showing ads, or drastically limiting speed and data. A subscription to a premium service means our only relationship with you is that of a customer - not a product being sold.

Is K1VPN free?

No. A top-tier service with premium infrastructure, strict No-Logs, and 24/7 support cannot be offered free indefinitely - operating costs have to be covered somewhere. We do, however, offer a 48-hour free trial so you can evaluate the service with no commitment.

What do I get with my subscription?

Every K1VPN plan, regardless of price, includes the exact same full feature set with no premium tiers or hidden limits: unlimited data, access to our entire global network, up to 10 simultaneous connections, WireGuard® and OpenVPN® support, streaming and P2P/torrenting with no throttling, and 24/7 support in English and Greek.

See all features →

Why is K1VPN more expensive than other VPNs?

In reality, if you compare our prices to other so-called "leading" VPNs on the market, you will find K1VPN is usually cheaper, especially on the 2-year plan. Our pricing reflects the cost of maintaining premium bare-metal infrastructure at strategic locations worldwide - rather than cheap, shared infrastructure - and genuine 24/7 support from humans, not bots.

What payment methods do you accept, and how much does K1VPN cost?

We accept card payments via Stripe, as well as cryptocurrency payments through our own self-hosted BTCPay Server for those who want an extra layer of anonymity. Our prices start at €3.99/mo on the 2-year plan and are final - they include all applicable taxes.

See our pricing page →

Who handles my subscription and payments?

Card payments are processed by Stripe, one of the largest and most secure payment processors in the world - K1VPN never stores your card details. For cryptocurrency payments, we run our own self-hosted BTCPay Server, with no third-party intermediary, for maximum anonymity.

See our Terms of Service →

Will I be notified if my subscription is terminated?

Depending on your payment method, you will receive an email notification before and after each renewal or expiration. Note: if you paid with cryptocurrency, you will not receive an automatic expiration notice, since we do not link your account to any contact details - we recommend tracking your expiration date yourself from your dashboard.

Why am I not able to make a payment?

We monitor our payment systems in real time and receive immediate alerts for any technical issue on our infrastructure. In most cases, a failed payment is caused by incorrect card details, insufficient funds, or a decline from your bank. If the issue persists, please get in touch with us.

Contact us →

Are there any additional or hidden costs?

No. The prices shown on our pricing page are the final billed amounts and already include all applicable taxes. There are no hidden fees, setup costs, or extra charges for any feature.

How do I retrieve an invoice for my purchase?

You can find and download all your purchase invoices from the billing section of your dashboard at app.k1vpn.com.

Can I cancel my subscription, and what about refunds?

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard, with no cancellation penalties. Per our policy, we do not offer refunds - which is exactly why we offer the 48-hour free trial, so you can evaluate the service before committing. See why we follow this policy. After cancellation you will not be charged again, and your subscription remains active until the end of the period you have already paid for, unless you choose to permanently delete your account yourself from the dashboard.

See our Free Trial Terms →

Will the payment be logged, and can it compromise my privacy?

If you pay by card, the transaction is naturally recorded by Stripe for accounting purposes - but it cannot be linked to your activity on the internet, since we keep no connection or browsing logs whatsoever. If you pay with cryptocurrency, we only see that a payment was made - without knowing who is behind it.

See our Privacy Policy →

How do I create a K1VPN account?

If you pay by card, you choose an email and password during checkout and proceed with payment - your account is created automatically as soon as the transaction completes. If you pay with cryptocurrency, you complete the payment first, and once we receive it, you will see on screen the username and password you should use to sign in.

Privacy & Security

Do you log my online activity?

No. We maintain a strict No-Logs policy: we do not record your browsing activity, the websites you visit, connection timestamps, or transmitted data. There is nothing to sell or share with third parties.

How can I tell if a VPN actually respects my privacy?

Many providers advertise "No-Logs" purely for effect, while their own website tells a different story. A simple, practical check: open a provider's cookie banner and see whether it categorizes cookies as "marketing" or "analytics" beyond strictly necessary ones - if it does, that alone means visitor behavior is being tracked. Next, open your browser's Developer Tools (the Network tab, or "view page source") and check whether requests are being made to third-party services such as Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, or Meta/Facebook Pixel - advertising and data-broker tools that have nothing to do with providing a VPN service, but everything to do with recording your behavior as a visitor. When we see this, we simply smile - the contradiction speaks for itself. If you genuinely care about your privacy, you can easily confirm that K1VPN includes none of this: no Google Tag Manager, no Analytics, no Pixel, no marketing or tracking cookies whatsoever. See for yourself in our cookie banner and in the page source.

What encryption do you use?

We use WireGuard® with ChaCha20-Poly1305 encryption - equivalent in strength to AES-256 but faster on modern devices. For OpenVPN®, we support AES-256-GCM. Both protocols provide military-grade encryption.

What user data can K1VPN see?

As little as technically possible. We never see your online activity, the websites you visit, or the data you transmit - all of that remains encrypted inside the tunnel. The only information we process temporarily, in RAM and never on disk, is whatever is technically required to keep the connection running.

See what data we collect →

Is K1VPN safe?

Yes, as long as you follow basic safe-usage guidelines: keep your app up to date, use the kill switch when available, and avoid exposing personal details elsewhere online. Our blog has detailed guides on VPN security best practices.

See our security guides →

How secure are K1VPN’s servers?

Very. In Greece, we operate fully owned bare-metal hardware, and in select additional locations - including Germany, France, the Netherlands, and the United States - we run our own, directly operated bare-metal servers. At every location we apply military-grade encryption (ChaCha20-Poly1305 for WireGuard®, AES-256-GCM for OpenVPN®) and a strict No-Logs policy enforced at the configuration level, not just as a written policy.

What is an IP address, and why should you protect it?

An IP address is the unique identifying number that identifies your device on the internet. On its own, it can reveal your approximate location and the internet provider you use, and it allows websites or third parties to tie your activity to a single identity. By hiding it through a VPN, you appear online with our server’s IP instead of your own.

Can my real IP address be exposed while connected to K1VPN?

No, as long as you follow our guidelines and best practices - such as using the kill switch, so your connection is automatically cut if the VPN connection drops, instead of silently falling back to your own IP.

Try our IP Check tool →

Can an assigned server compromise my privacy?

No. Every server on our network - whether owned or operated through select strategic partnerships - meets the same strict security and privacy criteria, and stores no activity or connection logs. A server only sees encrypted traffic being routed to its final destination, with no way to tie that traffic back to your identity.

Can traffic data compromise my privacy?

No, as long as you follow our guidelines and best practices. All your traffic travels encrypted through the VPN tunnel, making it unreadable to third parties on the network in between - such as your internet provider or the operator of a public Wi-Fi network.

How is your data used online, and how can you protect your privacy?

Without protection, your data online - IP address, the websites you visit, connection metadata - can be collected by your internet provider, ad networks, or public network operators, and used to build behavioral profiles or target ads. A VPN with a strict No-Logs policy, like K1VPN, encrypts your traffic and hides your real IP, eliminating this first and most fundamental layer of tracking.

How does K1VPN enhance my privacy online?

By encrypting your entire connection and hiding your real IP address, we prevent your internet provider, public network operators, and any third party in between from seeing what you do online. Combined with our strict No-Logs policy, there is no activity record to disclose - not to us, and not to anyone else.

Devices, Protocols & Performance

How many devices can I use K1VPN on?

Every K1VPN plan allows up to 10 simultaneous connections. You can install K1VPN on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. If you connect your entire network through a compatible router, all your devices are covered with a single connection. Note: with a manual WireGuard® config, only 1 active connection is supported at a time - this does not apply to the K1VPN App, OpenVPN®, or IKEv2.

Does it work for streaming and torrents?

Yes. K1VPN is optimized for streaming (Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, and other platforms) and P2P/torrenting. We do not impose bandwidth caps or throttle any type of traffic.

See everything you need to know about P2P/torrents →

What devices and platforms do you support?

The K1VPN App covers Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. Through WireGuard® or OpenVPN® you can also connect almost any other device - routers, smart TVs, NAS servers, IoT devices - as long as they support these protocols.

See all our apps →

Which VPN protocols do you support?

We support WireGuard® with ChaCha20-Poly1305 encryption for maximum speed, and OpenVPN® with AES-256-GCM when you need wider network compatibility or stricter protocol/port control. Both protocols provide military-grade encryption and are available on every plan, at no extra cost.

Does K1VPN throttle my connection?

No. We do not monitor or limit your traffic based on the type of activity. There are no bandwidth caps or artificial speed limits on streaming, P2P/torrenting, or any other use.

Why don’t I get 100% of my normal internet speed when using a VPN?

Every VPN inevitably adds a small overhead due to encryption and the extra hop through the server. Thanks to our premium bare-metal infrastructure and 10Gbps backbone network, this overhead is minimal compared to the competition - small enough that you will not notice it during everyday use, streaming, or gaming.

How can I be sure that K1VPN is working?

Use our free IP Check and DNS Leak Test tools to confirm in real time that your real IP address and DNS provider are fully hidden while you are connected.

IP Check →

What server should I choose?

For the best experience, choose the geographically closest server or the server of the country you are currently in - this ensures the lowest possible latency. Avoid switching servers frequently without a specific, valid reason, as this can affect connection stability with certain services.

What server locations are available? How many servers and countries do you have?

Our network currently spans 82+ servers across 45+ countries, and it keeps expanding based on our users’ needs.

See our full network →

How many IPs do you have?

We do not disclose the exact number of IP addresses for network security reasons. You can, however, see a full breakdown of every country and city where we have servers.

See server locations →

Can I replace my internet provider with K1VPN?

No, K1VPN is not an internet service provider (ISP) - you still need an existing internet connection to connect to our network. We run on top of the connection you already have, encrypting your traffic and hiding it from your ISP.

P2P & Torrents

What is Peer-to-Peer (P2P/torrent) traffic?

Peer-to-Peer (P2P) is a way of sharing files where users exchange data directly with each other, without needing a central server. BitTorrent is the most widely used P2P protocol, designed for fast sharing of large files across many simultaneous sources.

Is it legal to distribute files on P2P networks?

Using P2P protocols is entirely legal. However, sharing copyrighted content without authorization is illegal, regardless of the protocol used. Responsibility for the content you share rests solely with the user.

See our P2P/BitTorrent terms →

Can I use a P2P client with K1VPN?

Yes. The use of P2P clients is explicitly permitted under our Terms of Service. We do not monitor or log what you share, since we apply a strict No-Logs policy.

Why isn’t my torrent working?

K1VPN does not block, restrict, or throttle any P2P traffic, so a connection issue is usually caused by the P2P client’s own settings (e.g. port forwarding), your device’s firewall, or the number of available sources (seeds) for that specific file.

See troubleshooting guides →

Why are my P2P download rates so low?

P2P download speed depends mainly on the number and upload speed of the other sources (seeds/peers) sharing the same file - a factor outside our control. Make sure you are connected to a low-latency server and that your P2P client is configured correctly.
