Encryption & Security
What Is Hashing?
Converting data into a fixed-length string, with no way to reverse it back to the original data.
A hash function takes data of any size and produces a fixed-length string (hash). Unlike encryption, hashing is one-way - there is no way to recover the original data from the hash. It is used for securely storing passwords and verifying file integrity.
