Encryption & Security
What Is SSL/TLS?
Protocols that encrypt communication between your browser and a website (the "lock icon" in HTTPS).
TLS (Transport Layer Security, successor to the older SSL) is the protocol that encrypts the HTTPS connection between your browser and a website. It uses asymmetric encryption for the initial handshake and symmetric encryption for transferring data.
