A scam where the attacker impersonates a company executive to trick an employee into transferring funds.
In business email compromise (BEC), the attacker spoofs or compromises a company executive's email and sends the finance department instructions for an urgent fund transfer or sensitive data - exploiting hierarchical authority and urgency.
