What Is Man-in-the-Middle Attack?
An attack where the intruder secretly inserts themselves between two communicating parties and intercepts or alters data.
In a man-in-the-middle attack, the attacker inserts themselves between two parties who believe they are communicating directly, intercepting or altering the data exchanged. It is especially common on unsecured public Wi-Fi networks, where a VPN provides significant protection.
