What Is Pretexting?
A social engineering technique where the attacker fabricates a false scenario to gain the victim's trust.
In pretexting, the attacker fabricates a credible false identity or scenario - e.g. posing as a bank employee or technical support agent - to gradually gain the victim's trust and extract information they would not otherwise share.
