What Is SIM Swapping?
A scam where the attacker transfers the victim's phone number onto their own SIM card.
In SIM swapping, the attacker convinces (or tricks) the mobile carrier into transferring the victim's phone number to a SIM card they control. This gives them access to one-time codes (OTP) sent via SMS, bypassing 2FA and gaining access to banking or other accounts.
