How to Connect to K1VPN on Windows Without Installing Any Extra App

Step-by-step guide to connecting K1VPN on Windows using the built-in IKEv2 client - no additional software installation required.

If you prefer not to fill your computer with extra applications, K1VPN has you covered. Windows includes a built-in VPN client with full support for the IKEv2 protocol - one of the most secure and stable protocols available. You'll be connected to your chosen server in under 2 minutes.

Step 1: Configure the VPN Client

Open Windows Settings, select "Network & Internet", then "VPN".

Windows Settings - Network & Internet - VPN

On the page that opens, click "Add a VPN".

A configuration card will appear. Fill in the fields exactly as shown in the image - you will find the required credentials in Step 2 below.

Step 2: Get Your Credentials from the Dashboard

If you paid by card: Log in to the login page using the email and password you provided during registration. If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it from the same page.

If you paid with cryptocurrency: Log in to the anonymous login page using the username and password that appeared on your screen before the payment - the ones you noted down or saved in the txt file.

Important for cryptocurrency users: If you have lost your dashboard login credentials, unfortunately there is no way to recover them.

Once logged in to your dashboard, select the "VPN Connections" card.

Use the "COPY" button to copy each field and paste it into the corresponding field in the Windows configuration card. Give the connection a descriptive name - e.g. "K1VPN - Germany" - so you can easily identify which server it connects to. Click "Save".

Return to the main VPN settings screen. You will see the new connection with its name. Click "Connect".

Connecting VPN on Windows - final step

That's it. You are now connected and can browse anonymously and securely - without having installed any additional software.

You can add as many servers as you like by repeating the same process and selecting a different location each time.

Important 1: A Windows update may occasionally cause the connection to stop working or fail to connect. If this happens, delete the connection, restart your device, and create a new connection from scratch.

Important 2: There are isolated reports that certain custom Android operating systems on Samsung devices (and possibly others) are unable to connect using IKEv2. This is likely due to the way they process security certificates - these custom ROMs require a separate certificate per server rather than the wildcard certificate we issue. We are monitoring developments closely and will take all necessary steps if required.
